Thousand Crow Preview Images!

Exterior as seen from the library end...

Interior from the library end...so called because I will have three open book shelves running the length of the long windowed side above the raised area. They will line up behind the louvres in such a way as to appear to float when seen from the outside; that is if I can figure out how to do it.

Interior from the open-space end...this area I want to keep as it is, and only bring items/furniture into it as needed rather than have stuff I have to navigate around. Maximizing the open feeling is my number one priority as far as organizing what will be in the space. I have already started my downsizing and it is a battle; but I have done it before, a couple of times.

These are teaser images; John advises he will be refining them a bit; to which I say, holy crow, these are already blowing my mind! He's planning on an embedded 3D image at some point as well for the Camera Buildings site, and that is going to be super with a side of fantastic garnished with a pinch of whooooo!

PS. The cats are going to love the high transom windows over the front door as they survey their vast domain below and outside. I will figure a way to get them up there that fits in with the awesome.

It looks amazing, and surprisingly spacious what with all the natural light -- can't wait to see more pics!
Good luck with the downsizing! It's a hard process, but cathartic. A few years ago, I got rid of 75% of my stuff when I moved into a 223-square-foot apartment. I live a place twice that size now, and have acquired more possessions since the move. I think that's part of why I'm so drawn to small spaces; they keep me in check and encourage me to pare down.

May seem like a trivial question but how do you wash the outsides of the windows?

Hey Claudia, I've been doing some downsizing here and there, but have lots more to pare down. I am definitely drawn to the pared-down living element; my environment really affects my mood and clarity of thinking. Less clutter in my home means less clutter in my thinking.

No worries, Geoff, I have wondered about that too. I suspect I'll use a hose with a wand attachment and just sluice them down top to bottom through the louvres.

How much does a tiny house cost. I love concept. Living simple. It's just me and my dog. I live in Raleigh, NC. There use to be 2 bedroom apartments cost around $650 to $ 750. Developers are sweeping up properties and rents are now 1br is $750 - $800, 2 br $850 - $920, 3 br $950 - $1,000. Affordable housing is fading out. All the low income projects were torned down and replaced with apartments $700 - $1,000. Since 2011, I am on disability. This devastated me.
